These terms are the agreement between you and deamoz, the service that hosts, encrypts and streams your videos. By creating an account or using deamoz, you accept them.
In short
- You keep ownership of your videos. We store, encrypt and stream them only to the viewers you allow.
- Plans are priced by the storage your uploads take, in US dollars, and renew monthly until you cancel. Cards are charged in Sri Lankan rupees at the day's rate. Prices exclude tax, which is shown before you pay.
- Payments are non-refundable, except as the Refund Policy says.
- Only upload what you have the rights to, and follow the Acceptable Use Policy.
- Encryption makes copying hard, not impossible: nothing can stop a screen recording.
- You can delete your account at any time, and you have 30 days to change your mind.
1.Who we are
deamoz is a video hosting service operated from Sri Lanka. In these terms, “deamoz”, “we” and “us” mean the operator of the service, and “you” means the person, or the organisation, using it. You can reach us at support@deamoz.com.
The Acceptable Use Policy and the Refund Policy are part of these terms. The Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
2.Your account
You must be 18 or older, and old enough to enter a contract where you live, to create an account. If you open one for an organisation, you confirm that you may accept these terms on its behalf.
- Give accurate details, and keep your email address current — it is how we reach you.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else has got into it.
3.Plans, trials and payment
Paid plans are priced by storage: the total size of the files you upload. Plays, viewers and bandwidth are not charged. Prices exclude tax; the tax for your billing country is shown before you pay.
You pay by card through payments.lk, a payment service run by Payable in Sri Lanka. By buying a plan you authorise us to charge the card you keep with them every month, until you cancel. Your card details stay with them, and your invoices and receipts come from them. You can change your card, see your invoices and cancel from your Billing page or on the payments.lk page it opens; both count the same. Cancelling takes effect when the month you have paid for ends; until then the plan keeps working, and you can change your mind.
Prices are in US dollars, but your card is charged the same amount in Sri Lankan rupees, converted at the Central Bank of Sri Lanka’s exchange rate. We show you the amount in rupees before you pay. Before a renewal we update the rupee amount if the rate has moved, so that the US dollar price stays the same. If your card is in another currency, your bank converts the charge, so your statement may differ slightly and your bank may add its own fee.
A move to a plan that costs more than you pay now starts at once: you pay the difference between the two for the days left in your month, counted in whole days with today included. A move to a plan that costs the same or less starts when the month you have paid for ends. If a renewal fails, we try your card again over the following days, and your plan keeps working meanwhile; if it still fails, the plan ends. If we change a price, the new price applies to new plans and to moves between plans; a plan you already pay for keeps its price.
Enterprise plans, and any plan we agree with you directly, may be paid another way, such as by bank transfer; we record that payment on your account.
Free trial
A free trial is available on request and is approved by us. It gives 5 GB of storage for 7 days, once per person or organisation. When a trial ends without a plan, uploads stop and your videos keep playing for 3 more days. After that they go offline and may be deleted; choosing a plan before they are deleted brings them back.
When a paid plan ends
If a paid plan ends and is not renewed, uploading stops. We may later take your videos offline or delete them, but only after telling you by email and giving you reasonable time to renew or save what you need.
Refunds
Payments are non-refundable, except in the cases our Refund Policy lists, such as a charge made by mistake. It also explains how to ask, by email to support@deamoz.com.
4.Your videos
You keep every right you have in your videos. You give us a limited permission to store, copy, encode into different qualities, encrypt, package and stream them, to let viewers save a copy where you turn downloads on, and to show their titles, descriptions and thumbnails — only to run deamoz for you, and only to the viewers your settings allow. The permission ends when you delete a video, apart from copies that take a short time to clear from caches and backups.
- You must have the rights to everything you upload, including music, footage, and the consent of the people who appear in it.
- We do not watch your videos, except when we need to help you, look into a report, or comply with the law. We do not sell them, and we do not use them to train AI models.
- Keep your own copy of every original. Once a video is processed we delete the file you uploaded and keep only its encrypted streaming versions.
5.Acceptable use
You must follow the Acceptable Use Policy. In short: nothing illegal, nothing you do not have the rights to, nothing that harms people, and no attempts to attack deamoz or get around its protections.
6.What our protection can and cannot do
deamoz encrypts every video, seals its keys to each viewer’s browser tab, and checks your privacy, password and embedding rules on every request. That stops casual copying and link sharing. It is not DRM, though, and no technology can stop someone from filming or recording their screen. Keep that in mind for highly sensitive material. A video you let viewers download becomes an ordinary MP4 file in their hands, which they can keep and pass on: offer downloads only where you are happy with that.
7.Availability and changes to deamoz
We work hard to keep deamoz running and your videos safe, but we provide it “as is” and cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, add or remove features. If a change would significantly reduce what your plan includes, we will tell you in advance.
8.Suspension and closing accounts
We may take videos offline, or suspend or close an account, if it breaks these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if the law requires it, or to protect viewers, other customers or the service. Where we reasonably can, we tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. Serious cases, such as illegal content, may be acted on without notice.
9.Deleting your account
You can delete your account in Settings at any time. Your videos go offline at once. If you sign in again within 30 days, the deletion is cancelled and everything comes back. After 30 days your videos and folders are deleted for good and your personal details are removed, as the Privacy Policy describes.
10.Liability
As far as the law allows:
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, goodwill or data;
- our total liability for all claims about deamoz is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
You are responsible for claims made against us because of videos you upload or your breach of these terms. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
11.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For a significant change, we email account holders at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using deamoz after that, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, you can delete your account before they do.
12.Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka settle any dispute about them — unless the law of the country where you live gives you the right to go to its courts instead.
13.Contact
